Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin♦

For starters I loved this book. It's one of those drama filled novels that has you up till the wee hours of the morning because you just cant put it down. This book tells the story of Rachel, a young attorney living and working in Manhattan. Up until her thirtieth birthday, Rachel has been this very wholesome do everything by the book kind of girl until her best friend Darcy throws her a birthday party.

After way too many drinks Rachel does the most unspeakable, most scandalous thing she could possibly do. She ends up in bed with Darcy's fiance. The two try to put that one night fling behind them until they both realize they have genuine feelings for each other.

As Darcy's wedding approaches Rachel realizes she has to make a choice between her lifelong friend and the man she's helplessly in love with. Rachel discovers that the line between right and wrong becomes very blurry when it comes to matters of the heart and sometimes you have to sacrifice everything in order to gain true happiness.

The book takes an interesting turn proving that Rachel is not the only one partaking in deceit and betrayal. This is definitely a novel that will have you laughing, crying and well entertained.

Honestly, I thought you would have went for a book more complex. Only because I know you're so smart and all. =] It sounds good though. Drama, love story, freaky (ha!) all in one.

This sounds like the perfect book for me at the moment! It sounds romantic, and I'm hoping there's some satire or other humor involved. I would have expected you to enjoy something more complex as well. Maybe like The Bell Jar; that was definitely tough.
Anyways, sometimes we all just want our lives to be like Rachel's-with the best friend and secret lover, all that stress keeps us averted from the truth- that life isn't really all about ourselves. Sometimes love isn't everyone's priority and the hopeless romantics lose. It reminds me of Rufus' and Lily's relationship of Gossip Girl! Well great post Leisha! I’m going to look for this one to read over break.

It's the classic story between lover or close friend. Sometimes these kinds of books can be a drag or so cliche, but this one sounds pretty good! I always like a book with "chick flick" material mized with humor. I do love to laugh!
But based from the summary, the main character isn't looking so good right now. I mean, she sleeps with her best friend's fiance?? that's a BIG no no. If she didn't do that in the first place, she wouldn't be in that ordeal. (but there'd be no book either, i've realized.)

well guys I'm sorry to disappoint but like everyone else I enjoy books with a little drama now and again. Being articulate doesn't confine you to a specific genre of books but allows your taste to be more eclectic. I appreciate all kinds of literature :D And believe it or not an english teacher actually recommended this book to me (and no it wasn't Ms.Fletch)

I’ve seen a few people carrying this book around and the title made me very curious as to what the book was about. Now I understand the title. It doesn’t sound like it could possible end up good for any of the characters. I can’t imagine what Rachel’s going to do. I do feel that even if she didn’t fall to temptation she would have fallen in love with him anyway. It seems like a great book, but I’m scared that the ending is going to be too heart breaking for me to enjoy it.

This book seems interesting. Falling in love with best friend's fiance... I've seen some movies like that.
The story flows like a movie. I those kind of novels. I may read it one day. (I don't know when it is going to happen, but someday I will read it...)
